HADARA Development and planning branch focuses on environment, urban and rural planning, community and institutional development issues. Environment is at the core focus of HADARA Development branch, thus work focus on environmental analysis, assessment and planning and institutional development. HADARA staff were involved in advisory services , research and training activities in planning of rural and urban communities .

 

 

ROYAL CITY, RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL NEIGHBORHOOD, SIX OF OCTOBER CITY, EGYPT.

Planning and designing the neighborhood which composed of 4000 dwelling units, 200 villas on plot sizes ranging from 600 to 2000 sq.ms. the neighborhood includes health, commercial, administrative and religious facilities.


 


 

PYRAMIDS HEIGHTS OFFICE PARK, EGYPT.

Site planning and detailed design for an office park on a site area of 190,000 m², with a total office built-up area of 118,000 m². The design of the 18 office buildings integrates several prototype designs for 4-level buildings, and aims to create a state-of-the-art business environment. Works include vehicular and pedestrian circulation, services, landscape, and accessibility and parking facilities.

 

 

 

 

BELLE VILLE RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT, AIN EL SOKHNA, EGYPT.

Design and construction documents for an 11 ha residential community including 79 luxury villas of 9 sizes and types, parks, a club house, shopping market, mosque, nursery, administration building and outdoor recreational facilities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WEST BAY LAGOON, QATAR.

Design for public buildings of 8,000 m² built-up area in a prestigious 470 ha development, oriented around an inland lagoon, with 450 residential plots, 320 condominiums, 150-guest room hotel, 200-boat marina, recreation and commercial facilities, and a vehicle filling station, including cafeteria, boat showroom, car wash facilities, underground tanks, shops and a prayer hall. ASSESSMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS IN SELECTED VILLAGES OF BEHAIRA , SHARKIA &QALUBIA GOVERNORATES.

HADARA conducted a preliminary survey of environmental problems in selected villages of the governorates of Behaira, Sharkia, and Qalubia for the general organization for physical planning. In Shoubra Khiet- Behaira, kafr Sakr-Sharkia and toukh-Qalubia. The survey was designed to provide and assessment of prevailing environmental conditions and practices in the villages of those selected centers, and provide a viable plan of action for critical environmental problems.

 

MATRUH NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PROJECT.

HADARA Staff worked with world bank team in reviewing project first phase institutional functioning and the integration of community planning with project decision making framework.

 

WORLD BANK POPULATION PROJECT, MINISTRY OF HEALTH

Institutional assessment of the participatory process in sub-projects

USAID policy project and World Bank population project requested the development of an institutional mechanism for collaboration between NGOs and Ministry of Health population sector. Assess the process of community development planning and project formulation for community generated population project proposals, and provide options and institutional mechanisms for strengthening community involvement .

 

FORMALIZATION OF THE INFORMAL SECTOR STUDY.

Client: USAID/ Public Interest Incorporated.

Assessment the current housing policy for upgrading of informal settlements. Provide analyzed information on housing production and the process of urbanization of rural areas in Egypt.

 

DEVELOPMENT GUIDELINE PLAN FOR VILLAGES IN SHOBRAKHEIT CENTRE, BEHAIRA GOVERNORATE AND TOUKH CENTRE IN QALUBIYA.

The assignment focused on formulating development strategy for 22 villages, focusing on human development, employment creation, quality of water supply and sanitation and reducing development over agriculture land and improving educational, health and social services.

 

PREPARATION OF PROJECT PROPOSAL FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IN MATAHRA VILLAGE-MENIA.

CEOSS NGO requested a participatory community action planning. The plan focused on the most important problems defined by the community; pollution of the river side by waste desposal and unemployment.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL PROFILE FOR PERIPHERAL URBAN LANDS – CASE OF ALMOUNIB – GIZA GOVERNORATE.

This case study was developed to provide updated training material for both courses on urban and environmental management. It deals with the environmental impacts of the newly opened arterial roads , the ring road of GCR.

 

URBAN INFRASTRUCTURE IN EGYPT.

The study was developed in order to analyse the current situation of infrastructure in Egypt with special emphasis on potable water and sanitation.

 

URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN THE ARAB REGION BETWEEN LEGISLATION, PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT.

The case study focuses on the independence of the planning process in the Arab countries from many other aspects as it is influenced by the external economy, housing aspects, government actions towards the planning process and the planners themselves, as it is also affected by the institutions that plans and put plans in an implemented forms. The case draws lessons from the analysis of the situation in four countries, which are Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia and Morocco.

 

LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND TOOLS FOR LAND PROVISION FOR THE LOW-INCOME.

The case study introduces the meaning of governance , and the elements that affects governance practice in any local authorities . The case focused on Aswan governance , and the development and planning for upgrading as a process by which governance action in relation to the different elements are analyzed.

 

TOWARDS IMPROVING SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT SITUATION IN CAIRO, WITH SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO THE CASE OF TORA.

This study is mainly concerned with the problem of solid waste management in Egypt, it contains an overall assessment of the solid waste management situation in Egypt and the role of different actors, particularly of non-governmental organizations “NGOs” in this field.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENT AND RIVER BANK PRESERVATION IN MATAHRA-MENIA.

The case of Matahra village rely positively on the community spirit developed and the governance dynamics existing that are active towards community inclusion and collective work. Thus the case study documents a response to community demand in Environmental improvement and reduction of health problems and developing the quality of life through economical utilization of improvement towards insuring project sustainability.

 

STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR LAND DEVELOPMENT IN SOUTH LEBANON.

The case highlights the meaning of strategic planning in the Lebanese context and its importance for land development, particularly in relation to the existing land delivery system and land development process.

INTRODUCTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT

Urban Giza Environmental profile aimed to identify, quantify, analyze and present environmental problems in urban giza. And to recommend and prioritize specific actions and policies to improve the situation.

 

URBAN INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT PRIVATE SECTOR PARTICIPATION

This training course was developed in order to highlight problems that confront urban infrastructure projects; with special focus on potable water and sanitation. The course addressed the different agencies and institutions that work and intervene in decision-making, planning and management of urban infrastructure projects in Egypt.

 

TOOLS & TECHNIQUES IN COMMUNITY-BASED ACTION PLANNING

It was designed to practitioners, professionals and community builders from various academic backgrounds that are actually involved in community-based programs and projects.
